Description

A Polysomnographic Technologist performs overnight, daytime, or home sleep studies, polysomnograms, on people with suspected sleep disorders. They work under the general supervision of a physician or designee. The polysomnographic technologist responsibilities include, but not limited to recording and analyzing related data and report their technical findings to the physician to aid in rendering a medical decision. The foundation principles of the Polysomnography certificate are geared toward the specialties of sleep, medicine, respiratory, neurology and behavioral sciences. The program includes a non-paid, supervised practicum to provide students the “hands-on” clinical experience at an SCC affiliated healthcare facility. Requires Professional Healthcare CPR; background check; immunizations prior to END 1891 - Polysomnography Practicum .
