ALH 1001 Introduction to Simulation in Healthcare

This course introduces students to the history of simulation, concepts in healthcare as applied to simulation interprofessional education, and trends in simulation. Students will be introduced to simulation equipment, healthcare equipment, supplies and environments.

Prerequisites: NONE

Course Outcomes
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the role of simulation operations specialist in the simulation center, the purpose of simulation in healthcare and ethical, legal and safety issues in simulation.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of basic medical and simulation terminology as applies to simulation.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of simulation equipment, healthcare equipment, supplies, and environments found in a simulation center.
