ALH 1140 Fundamentals of Disease Processes
Pathological changes associated with the most commonly occurring diseases of each body system. Correlates changes with patient's response, diagnostic studies, and treatment modalities.
Prerequisites: BIO 1107 or BIO 1121 or BIO 1141
Course Outcomes
- Discuss pathological changes which can produce disease in any body system, to include infection/inflammation, cell proliferation, obstruction, ischemia, fluid and electrolyte imbalances.
- Discuss commonly occurring disease processes, utilizing pathological changes, in each body system.
- Correlate pathological changes with signs and symptoms of diseases.
- Identify diagnostic and treatment procedures of diseases based on their pathological changes.
