AVT 4171 Advanced Flight Operations

Practical application of complex, high performance aircraft in and out of controlled airspace and tower controlled airfields, advanced instrument procedures and simulated airline operations. One classroom, three lab hours per week.

Prerequisites: AVT 2266 and AVT 2277

Course Outcomes
  • Demonstrate advanced flight maneuvers, maintain specific flight attitudes and ground tracks associated with an aircraft in the flight environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in flight planning, weather analysis, minimum equipment requirements and knowledge of operations procedures in a simulated airline environment.
  • Demonstrate flying instrument approach procedures, standard instrument departures (SIDS), holding pattern entries and standard terminal arrivals (STARS) in a complex Air Traffic control environment.
