DAN 1155 Dance History

Historical development of dance from the earliest beginnings to the Renaissance birth of ballet to the twentieth-century emergence of modern dance.

Course Outcomes
  • Differentiate among various dance forms throughout periods of dance history.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the progression of dance through periods of history and specific individuals, and have a chronological concept of dance events and periods through history.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the role dance has played socially and culturally through history.
