DAN 1162 Beginning Middle Eastern Dance

Basic fundamentals and theory of Middle Eastern dance for beginning students. Class work consists of hip work, isolations, rhythm, history and cultural comparisons.

Prerequisites: NONE

Course Outcomes
  • Demonstrate mastery of basic isolations of multiple body parts.
  • Articulate and demonstrate the role of cultural dance within society.
  • Demonstrate ability to differentiate a variety of rhythms from one another.
