Guidance and behavioral intervention strategies used by early childhood professionals to help develop positive social and emotional skills in children birth through age 5. Practical application of guidance, problem-solving techniques and collaboration with families. Center observation required.

- Identify developmentally appropriate guidance strategies used to address behavior and social and emotional development of each child.
- Explain how theories of early childhood apply to guiding children in the classroom.
- Identify underlying reasons for children’s challenging behaviors in order to determine the appropriate guidance technique.
