FRE 1102 Elementary French II

Continuing French grammar skills, verbs in the future conditional and subjunctive tenses, speaking, writing, reading and cultural knowledge.

Prerequisites: FRE 1101

Course Outcomes
  • Use the following grammar concepts in situational contexts: future tense, irregular verbs, use of additional pronouns, reflexive verbs, relative pronouns, the partitive, the conditional tense, the simple future, direct and indirect object pronouns, the imperative, the subjunctive mood..
  • Listen to and comprehend topics in contextual and general situations. Comprehend main ideas and details in various tenses in French. Answer complex questions with detailed sentence responses using various tenses.
  • Read medium length comprehension passages and summarize the plot and necessary details in student's own words in complex grammatically structured sentences in writing, using various tenses.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge, understanding and insight into French cultural facts and everyday life.
