HIM 2262 Advanced Medical Office Coding
ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT procedure coding for the physician's office and other ambulatory facilities. Two classroom, two lab hours per week.
Prerequisites: HIM 1201 and BIO 1222

- Apply ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines and CMS regulatory guidelines for Outpatient Services, select and sequence ICD-10-CM codes.
- Apply CPT Coding Guidelines to locate and sequence codes for services and procedures rendered during an encounter.
- Apply ICD-10-CM and CPT Coding Guidelines to locate and sequence codes in simulated emergency room and outpatient surgery medical cases.
