HVA 1814 NCCER Sheet Metal Level 2B
This course covers sheet metal duct fabrication standards, bend allowances, soldering, and air distribution systems. One classroom, two lab hours per week.
Prerequisites: Approval of Department
Course Outcomes
- Determine the requirements for a duct system, including operation pressure, metal gauges, connectors, reinforcements, tie rods, and seams.
- Determine proper bend allowances in sheet metal, taking into account different factors that affect the amount of bend allowance needed.
- Identify soldering tools, materials, and techniques and be able to solder in an satisfactory manner.
- Explain basic factors related to air movement and its measurement in common air distribution systems and basic system design principles. Explain mechanical equipment and materials used to create air distribution systems.
