HVA 1816 NCCER Sheet Metal Level 3B

This course covers sheet metal job specifications, air testing and balancing, blanket insulation for ducts, and board insulation for ducts. One classroom, two lab hours per week.

Course Outcomes

• Balance an air distribution system using the proper tools and techniques for various components.
• Demonstrate how to use a project's specifications and submittals and coordinate with other craftsmen.
• Demonstrate understanding of fiberglass blanket installation to ducts and apparatus.
• Demonstrate understand fiberglass board insulation applications such as cutting fiberglass board insulation to fit over standing seams and stiffenrs, vapor-seal applications, and cutting and installing fiberglass board insulation on round or oval ducts.
