LIT 2201 British Literature I

A chronological survey of major writers of English poetry, drama and prose from the beginnings through the eighteenth century (through 1785).

Course Outcomes
  • Critically read, discuss, and write about works of selected British authors and movements from the earliest writings to 1785.
  • Identify the historical and cultural contexts which produced British Literature of the period.
  • Use appropriate literary techniques to analyze individual works from the period.
