MUS 1147 Jazz Ensemble

Big band jazz ensemble open to college and community musicians. Concerts and appearances are scheduled during academic year.

Course Outcomes

• Demonstrate an ability to improvise upon a given melodic or rhythmic pattern for an indeterminate period of time.
• Participate in a live concert.
• Demonstrate ability to read jazz charts, with sufficient knowledge of chordal structures.
