PTA 1120 Functional Anatomy Lecture
Human anatomy and clinical kinesiology with emphasis on integration of neuromusculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, physics principles and biomechanics in relationship to human movement.
Prerequisites: PTA 1000
Course Outcomes
- Students will be able to demonstrate behaviors related to ethics, values, responsibilities, and professional communication in the healthcare environment at an introductory level.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of functional anatomy concepts that are utilized when performing and interpreting data collection measures in physical therapy at an introductory level.
- Students will utilize information literacy and problem-solving / critical thinking in working through Critical Thinking application questions, as noted through thorough and descriptive documentation, at an introductory level.
- Students will describe the architecture, function, and location of structures within the musculoskeletal, nervous, hematologic, and lymphatic systems, and their relationship to other anatomical structures at an introductory level.
- Students will be able to apply physical laws, kinesiological concepts, and biomechanical principles to human motion, using case-based scenarios, at an introductory level.
