Military reserve, national guard duty, and active duty leave
Policy Statement:
Leave, as described herein, shall be available to full-time employees for military reserve, National Guard duty and active duty.
Scope:
This policy applies to all full-time employees of Sinclair.
Provisions:
Military Reserve, National Guard Duty and Military Active Duty
The College will cooperate with employees who are active members of regularly organized units of the military. Sinclair Community College's policy will be implemented in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations regarding military leave.
Procedures:
1. Notify supervisor to arrange for absence
2. Complete Leave Request form:
a. For "Type of Leave" write "Military Leave" and indicate dates of duty;
b. Attach copy of military orders to the Leave Request.
Responsibility:
It is the responsibility of all employees to be knowledgeable of the provisions of this policy and use them appropriately. Appropriate documentation for requested military duty leave may be required. Falsification of a written or signed statement or document shall be grounds for disciplinary action including dismissal.
The Office of Human Resources shall administer the policy.
