AVT 1114 - Geospatial Information for UAS 2 Cr. Hr(s). This course defines common terms used in the Geographic Information System (GIS) community, explains common geospatial applications, compares and contrasts the difference between data and information, and presents how to evaluate data from multiple sources in terms of usefulness, accuracy and potential uses. In addition to examining sources of data, the course also discusses production methods and analysis procedures for geospatial data as they relate to unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations. A fundamental grounding is also provided in the technical aspects to underpin geospatial data and key geospatial technologies that support Unmanned System operations. One classroom, two lab hours per week.
